'Icando' is the mental martial art of positive thinking. I can teach you the basics very quickly and with practice anyone can become a master.

'Icando' is based on the philosophy that you are only really limited by what you think you are capable of. It is based on the idea that you can if you think you can and your attitude is the only thing that holds you back. To quote Michael Jordan: "Limits, like fears, are often just an illusion." Most people fail to do something because either they don't try at all or they only give it a half hearted attempt.

Practitioners of 'Icando' think Yoda was right when he said: "Do or no do, there is no try."

'Icando' is really very simple. When you are unsure of yourself, repeat the 'Icando' chant:

“I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.”

…And then do it!

That's it. You repeat the phrase "I can do this" 3 times and then you do it. Over time this becomes a habit and your mind knows that this is how it works. After saying "I can do it" the third time, you have to do it. No more self-doubting, no more excuses, as Nike says "Just do it."

The 'Icando' motto is "Tu si quid potes." Translated this means "you do what you can."

Write down "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this" on a piece of paper and carry it with you. In times of need pull out the piece of paper and read it to yourself - and do whatever it is. The more you practice, the easier it will become. Remember: everything is hard before it is easy. The more you practice the mental martial art of positive thinking, the easier it will become.
